Monsters are everywhere via streaming on the web. Whether you like the big giant Kaiju monsters from Japan like Godzilla and Rodan or the classics like Frankenstein and Dracula, the amount of monster content is plentiful to the point you would never go without.
People love being scared and there’s nothing like a good monster movie to get the skin crawling and ears peeling with shrieks.
Nowadays the big monster groove are zombies. People love zombies. Maybe the undead wandering around looking for human brains has taken the place of the blood lust we humans had for the other content where we would watch movies of ourselves killing each other in war movies. Now we have something else to kill and not feel guilty about.
That being said, Hollywood is still trying to come up with new monsters. In the past 30 years two monsters emerged to very successful franchises. Alien and the Predator franchise brought two different types of monsters. They even starred together in a couple of team ups. Possessed dolls, animals, furniture, you name it, anything that can be turned into a monster and toy line will be.
Actors know a good monster movie can launch a career. Legendary actor Steve McQueen starred in The Blob, the 1950’s classic about a giant red amoeba that attacked a small town. Sigourney Weaver as the sensible Ripley in the first Alien movie. Those are just two examples.
Monsters mobilize us to stay on our toes and laugh at ourselves for being scared. The giant stomping monsters like Godzilla are cultural icons and aren’t scary as much as they are astonishing to watch. There’s a new Frankenstein movie out and more vampire fare on the way. Vampires and Zombies are big nowadays.
The monster content is so immense you can’t miss something you like via the streaming movie and TV sites.
